I think my husband and I were the last people in our neighborhood to purchase a home computer. We both work on the computer at our jobs, and did not see a great need to have one in our home. However we soon discovered that we were missing out keeping in touch with family members because we did not have e-mail. For a while this was not an issue because we had e-mail at work, but then both of our employers began limiting the number of personal emails that we were allowed to receive. |

I never had to deal with a wireless Internet connection until recently. I got a new laptop for Christmas, and we had to set up a wireless network in our home. I was worried that it wouldn't work well, and that is just because I don't have that type of luck. We went out to get the proper equipment and much to my surprise, there was absolutely no problem. I'm still in shock a little. I guess the real test will be when I try to take my laptop outside in the summer to get some work done while my daughter enjoys the summer sun.
In order to set up my wireless Internet connection, I had to buy a router for my home. My husband hooked it up, and then I turned on my computer. |

At this point there's no doubt what kind of world we live in. One that's seriously based on technology and convenience. Hey, don't take this the wrong way. I'm sure not complaining. I absolutely love my compact notebook computer, and don't see how I ever survived without it. Now, obviously with the deluge of computers on the market now, it can be a tad confusing which ones are the best and which ones should be avoided. This is a tough question to address. You can always look to recent computer reviews, but the main question you should also keep in mind is what do you intend to use your PC or Mac for. |

Mozilla is claiming a download record for the release of Firefox 3
In the first 24 hours the web browser was available the software was downloaded more than 8 million times, says Mozilla.
Statistics from the download servers are being scrutinised to produce an official figure that will be passed to the Guinness World Record organisation.
But the launch was marred by news from security firms who have found the first flaws in the software...
